Meet The Team.
Simon Croft is the founder and Director of Life Uni. As a young man he had no idea what he wanted to do with his life, but at the age of 27 with a degree from Bristol Business School under his belt he left his corporate job at Unilever and followed his heart into the world of teaching. This led to opportunities in small business startup and development including language training, food retail and microcredit banking. Before starting Life Uni, Simon was the Operations Director for a small, luxury children's furniture and interior design company. He is now an accredited mediator helping others to navigate and resolve their disagreements.
Stephen Backhouse is the Programme Director and key teacher at Life Uni. Originally from Canada, at 19 he left his family and moved to the UK for an adventure. After a five-year gap year (!) he attended Oxford University where he studied philosophy and theology. Stephen went on to earn his doctorate in political theology and is the author of several articles and books. He has been the Director for Graduates at St Mellitus College and the Dean at Westminster Theological Centre. Stephen is the founder of Tent Theology, a venture opening up spaces for Christian engagement in businesses, churches and charities. He is the host of the popular podcast Tent Talks.
Perry-May Britton is a Lead Mentor for Life Uni. She has a degree in Economics from Cape Town University and a Masters Degree in Pastoral Theology from Heythrop College, University of London. Since she was a young adult she has found herself in interesting places, with interesting people doing interesting things for the Kingdom and wishes she had done Life Uni before setting out as an adult. She has worked in various churches and charities and has a heart for the poor and marginalised. She is also an illustrator and an entrepreneur.
Andy Storey is a founding member and Student Coordinator of Life Uni. He has served as an intern for the Chanctonbury Churches group and has a Foundation Diploma in Photography at the Metropolitan College, Brighton. Andy leads a kids football club, serves as a core volunteer for The Wholesome Warehouse and has a heart for creativity and to help our fellow neighbours. He is a natural pastor, drawn to journey alongside people of all ages. At age 21 he is still working it out but he knows he has what it takes.
